The Ghost Unit - Chapter 7

Chapter 7

The 3 figures walk through the giant door concealed in the rocks.

One of the figures let's out a whistle. 'Woah this place is huge. How'd you arrange this General' says the figure.

The General turns to the other 2 figures. 'Well Trinnean this was designed and is operated by Interpol apparently in collaboration with the CIA'

Trinnean turns to Qiyanna. 'You ok.'

Qiyanna nods 'A little sore from the jump but other than that fine.'

(Flashback to a little while back)[TJ draws up alongside him as they come to a corner. TJ takes the corner on the outside and before he realizes it he's heading for a collision with a u-haul truck.

TJ has no other option but swing the car towards the cliff edge. The Mustang hits the skirt of the road. TJ slams the breaks but he feels the huge muscle car understeer. He fights hard to get the car back under control but he feels the back of the car slide out far too much. Before he knows it the back of the car has gone over the cliff and the car has started to fall backwards.

The u-haul comes to a stop blocking the view of the Mustang from the Ferrari. The car starts to slide down off the road. Just then the 2 doors of the car open and 2 dark figures jump out. The car flips on its side and starts flipping down the side of the cliff. The side of the u-haul opens and the 2 figures dart in. As the side slams shut Blake presses a button on the console and the mustang explodes.

'And that TJ is you dying a nasty death.'

The people in the car laugh and the u-haul starts to move.]

Blake walks up to the trio.

'General everything is ready for TJ and Qiyanna.'

'Great let's get them through all the processes. We have a lot of work to start on.'

TJ and Qiyanna follow Blake from the command center into the biometric lab.  They are put through the same tests the General was put through. Their retinas are scanned and voices recorded. Their fingerprints are then scanned and stored. They stand in front of a machine and after a flash of light two plastic cards appear on a tray.

Blake hands the cards to TJ and Qiyanna. The cards light up with their names and call signs.

Blake continues 'These are not just your access cards they are 2 way communicators'  and he hands TJ and Qiyanna a ear piece each.

‘Blake they are active on the system’ says a young girl with huge spectacles.

‘Thanks Geek. Guys this is Sue Gibbs. She’s a computer whiz and is the one who helps integrates all my baby gizmos’

Geek adjusts her glasses waves ‘Welcome aboard’.

TJ and Qiyanna exchange handshakes with Geek and are then escorted to the medical wing.

Blake introduces them to the Doc and explains that they need to have facial reconstruction done as well as any other plastic surgery that is required. Once they are done with their initial consultation they leave the med lab and head back to the command center.

They walk into the command center and find the General staring at a huge screen in front of him. On the screen there are a number of faces. TJ and Qiyanna stand on either side of the General.

‘What is this General?’ asks Qiyanna.

‘These are potential candidates to join the Ghost Unit.’

Pictures of people float around the screen. TJ suddenly points at the screen. 'Aaliyah Crawford. I've heard of her. She's supposed to be one of the most skilled infiltration specialists.'

'Yes' replies the General. 'I had her on the list of prospects. Wanted to run this list by you. You get to make the final decision as these are the people you will command.'

The names of about 10 other people flash across the screen. TJ and Qiyanna look at each candidate and their history. Blake even pulls up videos on the candidates and their skill sets.

After about half an hour he looks down at the pad in his hands and the 3 names he has written down.

'Here you go General. These are the 3 people I want on my team. Aaliyah Crawford, Zafiro Ramirez and Takatchi Nakamuro.'

‘So let’s get the rest of the team’ says The General.
