Don't Look Behind - Part Deux

This story is dedicated to one of my favorite followers and the only one who takes the time to comment. KO as you wanted to see more of Captain Jacqueline Sparrow - here's more.

Don't Look Behind - Part Deux

CHAPTER 1:

Crrrchhh sqwak.
“Control, come in. This is Captain Jacqueline Sparrow. I need backup and an ambulance to be sent to the following address.  18 Creek Street, Lonely Lane. I have one person down and a victim of an attempted rape.”

Jacqueline returns to Shevaun’s side. “Are you feeling okay?” Shevaun nods her head. Jacqueline wraps a blanket around
Shevaun and holds her tight. “Everything's going to be all right.”

3 months later.

Shevaun and Jacqueline are good friends, meeting up every week.  Shevaun has finally gotten over the fear of her near-rape.

One night, Shevaun is due to meet Jacqueline. However, Jacqueline has to cancel. Shevaun sits in her drawing room alone.

She feels a chill run down her spine. She gets up and looks around the house. Visions of that dreadful night not so long ago begin flooding back. She reaches for her mobile and then decides against it. She walks to the windows and looks outside. The moonlight bathes the surroundings in hues of silver. She decides to go for a dip in her pool.

She walks out onto the pool deck and strips down. The cold wind sweeps across her. She dips her toes into the water and checks the temperature. She smiles, glad that she decided to fix a temperature control in the pool. She slowly slips into the still water.

She submerges herself in the water before resurfacing and letting the water trickle off her. She savours the feeling of the warm water caressing her body. Taking a deep breath, she then slips underwater again and starts swimming.

In the eerie darkness, a shadow creeps around near the bushes surrounding the pool. As Shevaun stops moving, the shadow stops moving. Shevaun leans back against the wall of the pool. With a start, she notices the shadow that she knew wasn't there earlier. She turns toward it just as the shadow moves towards her. She opens her mouth to scream.

CHAPTER 2:

Just then the figure steps out of the dark. A hint of metal reflects the light of the pool. Shevaun starts screaming.

"Relax, it's just me." Jacqueline steps out from the darkness. "Woman, you need to get some lights out here. I got the shivers walking to your pool.” Shevaun relaxes, breathing deeply. "What the hell were you doing creeping around here in the first place?" Jacqueline kicks off her stilettos and says, "Try walking in these damn things", flashing Shevaun a cheeky grin.

Jacqueline moves to the edge of the pool, letting her dress fall to the ground. Shevaun looks up at Jacqueline, noticing her curves. Jacqueline slips gracefully into the water next to Shevaun. Her hand gently grazes Shevaun.

Shevaun feels a jolt run through her body. Jacqueline smiles at Shevaun before slowly swimming away in easy strokes that barely create a ripple in the silvery water.  Shevaun follows Jacqueline slowly. After swimming for a while, Shevaun and Jacqueline step out of the pool. Jacqueline turns to Shevaun. Shevaun, a trifle shy and self-conscious now, wraps a deck towel around herself.

Jacqueline breaks the silence. “Shevaun, you look great.” Shevaun begins to blush and replies, "You are in good shape too.”  They look at each other, breaking into a nervous giggle. Donning towels, the two women start heading back into the house.

Suddenly, a dark figure steps out into the light, striking Jacqueline on the head with something and knocking her out. The figure then strikes at Shevaun, who tries to duck. The blow catches her on the side of the head, making her feel groggy. She stumbles and falls to the ground.

CHAPTER 3:

Shevaun feels her legs buckle under her and she falls on her knees. Just as her eyes start to close, she sees the shadow standing over her take out a shiny object. Her eyes close.

When she awakens, Shevaun sees the roof of her room. She looks around. She feels a sudden pain run through her head. She hears a voice nearby. A face appears in front of her - a huge grin beginning to stretch across it. Once Shevaun's head clears, she realizes it is Jacqueline.

"Jackie, what happened?" asks a bewildered Shevaun. "You got hit on the head by an attacker, " replies Jacqueline.  Shevaun shakes her head. "I remember you falling down. What happened after? How did I get to my room?"

"Well, Shevaun, I  regained consciousness just in time to see the man take his knife out to slit your throat. I managed to get up and stop him. We ended up in a fight."

"Oh, Jacqueline, what's that on your arm?" inquires Shevaun.

"Ah, it’s nothing. Just a cut I got during the scuffle," replies Jacqueline.

"Where's the guy now?" questions Shevaun.

"Didn’t end good for him."

"Oh, Jacqueline, I'm sorry I'm getting myself into all these sticky situations."

"I think I'm your guardian angel. That's twice that I've saved you."

"Yeah, that's true." Shevaun props herself up on her elbows, looks at Jacqueline and grins widely. "My hero," she says, batting her eyelids dramatically.

CHAPTER 4

A few months later.

Shevaun and Jacqueline are driving down a dark and lonely road. Suddenly, Jacqueline slams on the brakes, bringing the car skidding to a halt - there is a car parked across the road.

As the two women approach the parked car hesitantly, they hear a sound and Shevaun moves closer to Jacqueline.
A ferocious growl rips through the silence and the two women jump.

A shadow rushes towards them. Before either woman can react, they see a huge Rottweiler charging at them out of the darkness.

Jacqueline instinctively reaches for her gun. “Damn it,” she shouts. “I left my damn gun in the car.”

The beast charges at them, frothing at the mouth. Just as it leans back to pounce on the women, who are frozen with fear, a low hum is heard and the dog turns away.

The women look at the dog in wonder. Jacqueline finally snaps out of her trance and reaches for her gun through the car’s open window. The dog turns back at them and growls.
Jacqueline turns around and points the gun at the dog. The dog growls again. At the same time, they hear a sound from behind the other car. Jacqueline moves her gun towards the shadow that comes out from behind the car.

“Caesar, back off,” grunts the shadow, before adding, “Hey lady, put the gun away please.”

Jacqueline doesn't flinch. “Who and what the hell are you doing in the middle of nowhere like this?”

“I was actually driving up to see your friend over there when my car skidded,” replies the shadow as he steps into the light to reveal his face. The light reveals a well-built man, around six-feet tall. He looks like an army man.

“Mwabanga! It can't be you. After all these years?” screams Shevaun. She runs up to him and throws herself into his open arms, kissing him.

Jacqueline looks at them, confusion writ large on her face. The dog walks up to her , sits down and looks up at her. She glances down at it and says, “Don't look at me. I'm equally zapped.”

Shevaun draws herself away from Mwabanga and turns to Jacqueline. “Jackie. This is Mwabanga. Zothanmawii Noel Mwabanga.”

Jacqueline raises an eyebrow. “That says a lot.”
Shevaun smiles broadly as she turns towards Mwabanga. “Mwabanga is my Kenyan lover. I haven't seen him for years as he had to go back to his family.”

Mwabanga walks up to Shevaun, lifts her up and holds her tight.

Shevaun looks at Jacqueline. Jacqueline sees the look in Shevaun's eyes. She knows that Shevaun’s safe at last.Jacqueline waves, turns around and gets into the car.

She starts her car and watches Shevaun climb into the other car. She stays and watches as the car drives away until the tail lights disappear around the bend. She turns her car around, and heads back home. She looks in the review mirror and smiles.

So that's where that no-good Zothanmawii Noel Mebanga is hiding! That two-timing two-timer!! Makes false promises of pudding and disappears! Typical! You let him know that I have friends who can use nan-chucks...real people..not the Ninja Turtle kind! Humph!

Unknown said...

@Smriti: Welcome to my humble abode...uhmm blog...Zothanmawii Noel Mwabanga said he is offended you spelt his name wrong... It is Mwabanga not Mebanga...Mwabanga means mysterious one...Mebanga means nothing... Oh and he said he is trained in Kung Phooooooooooo.....not Fu...

Well hope you liked the story...

Smriti said...

The inaccurate spelling was intentional. Guess you missed the innuendo targeted at that horny toad!
Anyway, please tell him I'm ready! (Bats fake long mascara-clad eyelashes seductively!)
If he fails to honour his promise, he shall become a castrated man. (Wags the powerful index finger threateningly!)

Also, the story was interesting. But if truth be told, all I saw was a boy who likes girl-on-girl action! :P

Smriti said...

Oi Mystery!

Mystery's head deserves a box!
Flatters himself and runs amok!
Come, show me what you've got
The battle yet to be fought
And I'll send you back in a frock!

P.S All in good humour, ofcourse! Te he!

Smriti said...

Dearest Zoe (May I call you Zoe?),

Thanks for that note!

Save the huba wuba..aiikarummbaa..hah-cha-cha-cha for later. You did promise me joy only in X-mas, remember? *Bambi-eyes!*
Meanwhile, I shall wait for my big, pink (erm, conflict-free, ofcourse) diamond ring! I am a materialistic city girl after all!

P.S. Here's to our first quarrel. I took offence to you calling me the fiery one...it coincided with my post on The Constipated Writer! *Slaps face with gloved hands!*

Unknown said...

@Smriti: Zoel decided he will take a break. He said he thinks you will be quite a handful.

Mystery said he will take the bait and get into a dual here...He said he has his sights on a battlefield and will take you on there...{all in good humour}

Part 3 of this series has just been started but it will take a little while more...so u will hv a while to wait to see wat Mr. Zoel is up to.

Nice Bro

Smriti said...

Zoe!! What brings on the grey skies and rain to your otherwise sun-filled face? Why, I ask, why?
But have no fear while I'm here! I shall whisk out my shoe polish and shine you up! Then we'll look for the booty...ooops beauty underneath your Kenyan delight! :P

P.S. Yes, I am a handful. So please build up those biceps!

Unknown said...

@AmAIAn: Thanks...

@Smriti...Well if the ur a handful was directed at me then I must say I still haven't met a girl who I've found to be a handful...

If it was at Zoel, then he said to tell u that he's been pumping iron and can wrestle a wild boar with his bare hands...

Smriti said...

Dare not steal my message to Zoel! He'll pound you like a ram! Haven't you heard? He can wrestle a wild boar with his bare hands!

Smriti said...

Dear ZOEL (and NO ON ELESE!).. We shall reside only in places where wind-trumpeting is permitted. A land is but no land if the blue skies can only caress the earth's wind and not your global warmers. Set your rocket launchers to take-off mode. Fire! Prr!

P.S. This Terror character scared me with that gory pic. Can you pound him please? Danke!

Basically Blah said...

There was once a man from Africa,
The tenacious Z.N. Mwabanga,
Who sought a bride,
For his Savannah pride,
No other but an Indian lovah.

He promised Smitten a big pink rock,
She thought him to be Terror the jock,
But this fact will regale,
Zoel’s not even male,
But sits in Blore flaunting a frock.

With Zoel accused of being a two-timer,
Terror thought it all a total no-brainer,
He saw perfect logic,
Absolutely tragic,
For he was being played by a master gamer.

Yes, folks, as always it was the wily Poo,
Entrusted with this precarious game for two,
A little Roman agent,
The total deviant,
Setting the stage for a marvellous coup.

When Zoel called Smitten his only sweetheart,
She invited Terror to a joyous union of fart,
Terror, you saw nothing amiss?
Rationalising even this?
Something strange in the virtual apple cart.

So here is where everything be told
Absolutely brutal and totally bold,
KO, the master puppeteer,
Let it be made clear,
Revenge is a dish best served cold.

(Muahahahaha!)

YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYED!
